    Default Maybe im being picky?

    Hi,
I recently just brought 52 plate Vectra C and I've had nothing but problems with it!
My most recent problem is that when I turn corners my headlights and dash lights all really badly dim.
I've contacted Vauxhall about it and they called it a "feature" of the new Vectras.
I asked them to put this in writing to me and they refused.
Are they right? is this just something I have to put up with on a 3 year old car or is this a genuine problem?
Do any of you guys have the same problem when you turn your steering wheels?

I have an 02 plate mate and it certainly ain't a feature on my car. What would be the purpose of dimming lights while cornering anyway

The problem is the power steering. A heavy load on the power steering pump motor means it draws a large current. My headlamps dim a little when turning the wheel but not by a large amount.

HHhhmmm Corners, dark, no lights....Sounds like a safety issue to me! If you had an accident in this situation, could VX be deamed to be negligent?

That's exactly what I thought....that's why I've asked them for a letter from them stating this new fancy "feature", at least I'll be covered should anything happen.

Mine too, it's the electric power steering sapping power. Mine's only noticable (dimming lights) when I'm manoeuvring at low speed and the PAS is working hard, particularly when just setting off with the heater fan, the HRW.....and of course the headlights ablaze!!!!!

It's only a slight (momentary) dimming on mine so I'm not worrying about it. Can't tell at all under normal night driving conditions.
