    Default Leather Sofa Help/Advice Please

My Parents bought 2x 2seater sofa's 1x Chair from DFS 6/1/07, they paid over £2k with a £155 protection cover. (presume 1 yr)

    Problem...

For awhile now the dye has started to come off leaving the sofa a tan colour intead of a dark deep chocolate brown. It really looks horrible! Will the protection cover cover this to you think? If not are there any repair dye kits that work?

if the warranty doesn't cover it then there are plenty of good leather dye kits available on the market.

ebay is a good place to start, as is the 'search' function on detailingworld.com, there are a good few threads on technique and products

That happened to my Grandparents new suite after about 12 months and the whole suite was exhanged for a new one... but the new did the same after a period of time but they didnt bother to change it..

On the other hand, I could see the warranty company could say its wear & tear...

    Bit poor 'innit...

Give the warranty company a call and enquire... You can't win if your not in (as they say!)

EDIT - I would have thought the extended warranty would be 2, maybe 3 years as you would get 1yr 'guarantee' surely?

Had The Same Problem With A Tan Suite Just Touch It With Water And The Colour Comes Out . Unfortunately The Company We Bought It From Has Gone Out Of Business So Had To Buy Another. Took Out A Warranty With This One Which Covers It For 5 Years. Check Your Warranty It May Cover More Than A Year.

Rather worrying, I bought a DFS sofa & 2 chairs in a different design (but almost identicle colour). Hope you get it sorted.

I did pay nearly as much for the leather in my car as I did for the DFS suite so don't expect it to be the same quality.
