    Question Electric Windows not responding

    Hi Guys,

First post here, just found this forums by accident, i have been reading through a lot of the posts but I can't seem to find anything what I'm looking for.

I have an '04 Vectra 1.8i LS, about 8 months ago the passenger side front electric window control stop responding on occasions, if you fiddle with it for a while pushing it down and releasing it it seems to work. I never paid any attention to the problem as it could be controlled from the drivers side but now the drivers side is starting to do the same thing.

Does anybody know it this is a known issue and can be fixed by cleaning connectors on the control unit or do I need to replace the control unit?

So I guess I would like help with the following questions:

    1. if it can be fixed by cleaning connectors, How to I remove the units for cleaning, what parts do i clean and what do i clean them with?
    2. if I need to buy replacements, any idea on cost and where is best to get them and how to I change them over?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Mark L

Had the same problem on my passenger side switch. I removed the switch and squirted some switch lubricant / cleaner into the switch ( no need to dismantle it) then operated it firmly a few times and hey presto it worked. Trouble is because the switches are not used very often the contacts oxydise. Doesn't take much to stop 12 volts. HTH

Just use a small srewdriver or blade to prise them out. Think there's a little recess to get a screwdriver blade in.
