    Default rough idle

    Wonder if any of you guys have any ideas. Car runs fine until stationary then when ticking over seems to fluxuate between 600 and 1000 rpm, and ocasionaly cuts out when comiing to a stanstill .Cars doneabout 10000 miles 2.0turbo . need to go out right now but be back on in about an hour thanks.

    Dirty idle valve?
    Carp in the airbox?

    Thanks i wil check that out. If that does'nt work i will take it into stealers as it still has 2years left on warranty . Where is the idle valve .

    remove the black plastic cover on the front of the engine, then remove the air intake hose...clean up that butterfly valve you see with carb cleaner till it's lovely and shiney....

    The 2.0T doesn't have an idle valve as such, it uses the stepper motor to control the idle via that butterfly..

    Got car back from vauxhall today said they put new coil pack on and changed spark plugs. Seems to be idling fine now . They never gave me a note of work carried out, so when i asked for one they said they dont normally give out a copy because the work was done through warranty ,but because i asked they said they would send out a copy..

    If you ask nicely they will do you a print out of all work done on the car from new, as long as the work is done in a VX dealer everything in on there including services, job numbers and costs are also on there.
