Default Parrot MKi Series Hands Free

    Hi,

Has anyone fitted a Parrot MKi series hands free kit to their car? The one I'm looking at in particular is the 9000 without the screen as I can't be bothered to take half the dashboard out to run wires. Is it just a case of getting the correct SOT lead and plugging it in? I've heard that I might need to get a 12v ignition feed from somewhere as the standard headunit only has a permanent feed? Also does the CD30 unit fiited in my car have a mute input?

The main reason for me wanting one of these is for the iPod connectivity, whats the sound quality and volume like?

Failing that, what other devices do you guys use, obviously I have no aux input which is a shame? I already have an Alpine iPod ready headunit but don't really want to change the headunit. I can't live without my iPod in the car, Radio 1 etc is driving me mad!

    Cheers,

    Adam

If you use the SOT lead, everything will work as expected. The muting is done in the lead, the CD30 will change to "Extern In" while a call is in effect.

I picked up the power feed from the back of the ciggy lighter on mine.

Just ordered one for £120 including the SOT lead. Can I ask where you have installed the box and microphone?

I had the Mki9100 (with LCD screen) fitted by a professional on Friday. Works a treat. I've got a Apple iPhone 3G which plugs into the unit via the supplied lead to stream music but the phone is via bluetooth. Couldn't tell you where all the leads go...I was making the guy a cuppa!
