Have you got a tow bar?, as that will open up the options available to you. If not then it'll be the roof bar/carrier options like Thule/Vx etc.

I have a towball mounted bike carrier. It just clips onto the actual ball and can be mounted is approx 10 seconds. It is pretty secure, didn't cost a lot, and can be folded away when not in use. It is good for 2 adult bikes too and doesn't touch the paintwork at all.

I've got a 'home made' one after a nasty paintwork incident with my old one.....stronger than the highstreet one's ( 40x40x3mm box) and with a 12" kick away from the car...mounts to a plate on the towbar...carries 3 full size bikes with ease...

Avoid any 'clip on' rear carriers.. they run too close to the car....if you haven't got a towbar to mount a carrier plate to, then the roof is best..

    Mine doesn't.
But the towbar mount does have a spacer fitted between the ball assembly and the mounting plate
