Default Few examples of rip off Britain.

2 weeks ago fuel in Orlando resort area was $2.46 a gallon (yes i know a US gallon is only 3.98 litres) but still works out at approx £1.66 a gallon
Yesterday (friday) down to $2.07 (£1.39).
    Based on £ v $ @ 1.48.
    Megs Gold Class shampoo 2ltrs $6.94 (£4.68) UK = £14.99.
    Megs Tech Wax 2.0 $14.44 (£9.75) UK = £15.99.
Megs Hot Shine Tyre dressing $4.46 (£3.02) UK = £8.99.

They're taking the effin' pith outta us in the UK !

Yep rip off Britain, even with the pound being so weak it is still cheaper to buy in the US. It sounds like you brought some detailing stuff back. It was really good when the pound was strong and we were getting near $2 to £1.

Did you have a good holiday?

Always have done always will, with the wax they will justify by saying it's due to volume sales, i.e the Sherman's will buy 4x as much as us and that's why it's cheap, we've always sub'd the fuel in relation to what they pay, generally things should be half price in the US as their wages are still quite low, iirc a truck driver gets about $8 ph which is below our min wage, but as you can see we are paying 3x instead.

Local paper were advertising for staff to work all through the Disney resorts as the students have all gone back to study, they can't get anyone to work there. Apart from "senior citizens" !
Oh - by the way, Disney wages start from $4.40 to IIRC $7.99 ph. !

Yes they do earn less and it is all relative.

The same job as what I am doing here in the UK is being advertised at the moment for $75k in NJ.

A 4x mortgage would buy me this.

    Saturn Astra XR - $18,995 (£12,138)
Vauxhall Astra Design (specced up to meet the XR) - £17,290

Ironic as the Astras are built in the UK.
