Default Cost of replacing entire auto dimming door mirror?

Some effing barsteward smashed my auto dimming o/s door mirror to pieces tonight whilst I was taking the kids to a firework display. Any idea how much it's going to cost me to replace the whole thing? Can I buy a second hand "normal" one and fit the auto dimming glass only? It's a late 2006 Elite, so the mirrors aren't self folding.

    Cheers in advance,

    Tim.

You can fit a normal one as long as the wiring is not damaged,a glass is going to set you back alot though......

    Question

Cheers Guys - I can see this will be expensive. If I buy a normal mirror, will it have the additional wires for the auto dimming function? If not can I easily (i.e without cutting) transfer the wiring from my existing mirror to the new one? Otherwise, I am thinking that the best route may be to try to find a complete auto dimming unit and fit that instead.

I am going to remove just the triangular trim inside (covering the bolts) rather than the whole door card, in which case which way do you pull it to minimise the chance of breaking the lugs and damging the paint etc - sideways towards the rear of the car or at 90 degrees to the glass?

    Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks for the eBay links - the £30 one is local to me but before I bid on it I want to make sure that if I buy a second hand complete unit that it has the wiring in place for the auto dimming function? If not as I said I'll probably try to source the whole auto dimming unit, although god knows how much that will be. Anyone got one?

the link on ebay is just the mirror glas.. if the rest is gone to... not sure that you can replace that with a non dimming type.
