    Default Sri Tyres

I will need a pair of new front tyres for the CDTi SRi soon. I vaguely recall some people have chnaged the size of the tyres on the SRI to get a wider range at a lower price.

What is the eize to change to and can I just change the fronts?

The car is running standard 17" wheels.

Size you mean is 225/45/17. More choice and cheaper. You can have them on the front or rear or both, as long as you have the same size left and right on each axle.

i.e ONE of the 4 following combinations

    215/50/17 all round
    215/50/17 front & 225/45/17 rear
    225/45/17 front & 215/50/17 rear
    225/45/17 all round

I just put a pair of Bridgestone Turanza ER300 in 225/45WR17 on the back and moved the rear NCT5 to the front.

The ER300 looks a little smaller on the rim, but should outgrip the NCT5 and is also very quiet. £195 for the pair fitted.

Just bought 2 225/45/17 Falken 452 from Camskill for £67.50 each. I had a puncture on the fitted NCT5s and thought I may as well start changing the tyres! Got them fitted at a garage down the road, so all in £170. Compared to the other prices I was being quoted this was really good

No idea what they're like yet but others seem to have given a good review. You can't really notice the difference in size compared to the original NCT5s i've still got on the back either.
