I wholeheartedly agree coldhand, removing speedhumps would also reduce the carbon footprint significantly!!!
I have an observation to disclose....after washing my car, the creaking is definitely worse, it is definitely better when dry, and almost non-existent when warm, in fact it all makes sense now, the noise is just like rubber (wet) against steel, however, how can I stop it getting between the rubber and the arb, perhaps some sort of silicone or rubber lubricant could help, any ideas??

I also have this problem - creaks coming dowm off speedhumps but it is loudest when i'm just leaving the house and almost disappers when i've been driving a while!!! I thought the suspension was just taking a while to warm up :-) I was coming on here to ask the question!! glad to know i'm not alone- but has anyone actually found a solution to this problem yet?

Anti roll bar bushes are the most likely culprit

Hi fellas, got the same problem with my 54 plate signum. I took it to the stealers the other day to get them to look at it. They said that the ARB bushes were in good condition with no play in them and I have had the spring mod. After taking the engineer out for a drive over some speed bumps, he was baffled as to the loudness of the creak! He was expecting a quiet creak but when people 20 ft away from us turned and stared at us he agreed it wasnt a normal noise. Its going in again on friday for them to have a poke about and see what they can do.
Will post again when they have an answer (or not!!).

Well i'll find out this eve if its was the arb bushes that were squeaking and if it was the drop links giving the clunk as they're being changed as i type. Also had the rear upper arms changed as once i did the test for it (squat facing the rear wheel and pull it hard towards you from the top- movement means they're shot). Found mine were flapping about like dumbos' ears! :-) also changed the rear arb bushes as they're cheap and easy to fit. So hopefully i'll have to get used to the sound of silence! It seems mad that there is so many common faults that make awful noises- though at least they give us a warning!

    so to recap
    front and rear arb bushes
    rear suspension upper arms
    new front drop links

It had the spring mods in place so if the horrid noise isn't not cured i'll bury it!

    Default front spring spring modification

Had my front springs replaced last year (under extended warranty) and I see that no rubber sleeves have been fitted. Spoke to the garage this afternoon and they say that the sleeves are no longer fitted.

Has a further note been issued to not fit a rubber sleeve or can I confidently go back to the garage and complain (preferably being able to quote some sort of Vauxhall reference)?

Car is a 2004 2.2 elite direct estate.

    Thanks,

    Dave

i got told by vauxhall that the vectra suffers with the bushes drying out so a quick spray of grease better to jack up the car and let the suspension to drop and there you go hope it works
