    Default MFD incorrect MPG recordings

His Guys had the Vectra a week now and pretty please so far. The only problem seems to be the Multi function display, it has now advised that I was getting 42 MPG and 41.6 mpg between two refills ( 109 miles and 350 miles). However when I have filled up and run a calculation the car is returning 50mpg and 53 respectively (good news I know). Anyone got any suggestions as to why the computer readings are so far out, the mileage is recording accurately against the odometer.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Cheers

It's not normally the car telling lies it normally Arnold Shark .
Are you sure your calc's are correct the 42 mpg seams a realistic amount for your 1.9 120.

Very unlikely you're getting 50+ mpg unless you drive everywhere at 40mph in 6th...

the odometer reading can be out a little because theres only one decimal place and the only way to know how much fuel u have used is to empty the system and then put in a measured amout then run the tank dry

working it out urself is full of errors

One decimal place on the odometer is NOT going to affect the MPG figure by over 25%....

Yep, mine said 37.2mpg and when calculated with the fill it up method I actually got 38.3mpg. They're not the most accurate things.
