Car will not start, help needed

Hi all,

Need some help. I did the thermostat on my vectra yesterday, all went back together ok.
Started it up ran fine, went through the VX bleeding sequence.

Have come to start it this morning and now I get the spanner light and all the car does is 'CLICK' will not turn the engine at all.
Charged the battery because I have an OP-COM and the fault code was low voltage. But it was at 12.5v?
Still just getting the click and have cleared all fault codes.

I have disconnected the battery to try and reset the ECU.
Anyone have any other advice to give?

Battery at 12.5V was when?

With the engine running, voltage should be 13.2V, then drop slowly to 12.6V whrn the engine is turned off.

I think that when engine is running your testing alternator output..if you get it started run it in to a reputable garage you trust if there is such a thing,and get the battery drop tested.Kwik Fit will happily do this for you,if its proved to be the Bat ,get one from your local accessory shop cus quick fit are expensive on Bats.

Batt voltage was 12.5v with engine off.. I didnt test the voltage until it wouldnt start.
Might try and jump it from another car.

the car is a 52 plate and it has a VX battery in it. could well be the original battery i guess.

sound like the batt needs recharging/replacing, did you keep the radio on whilst you replaced the stat? As above try jumping it and leave it charging for 45 mins.

But is it correct for the spanner light to just flash at you for a low batt?

no didnt have the radio on.. the thermostat on a 3.2 is very involved took best part of a day lol.

Ah! If the spanner light is flashing on and off, that means there is an immobiliser related problem.

great.... will the battery being left off help that?
am currently at work so batt has been off for a few hours.

Or any other tricks to fix this?

ok battery being off all day didnt help.
still got flashing spanner light and the running man logo on centre console saying check safeguard.

have a few fault codes if anyone has an idea
P1610
U2120 - CAN-Bus No Communication with AHL (Headlamp Levelling Device)
B1325 - System Voltage Low Voltage

ok the lights one shouldnt mater.
ive no idea what P1610 is and the system voltage cantbe low because i have fully recharged the battery.

any suggestions would be a great help as i cannot drive anywhere.

Battery being left off all day won't solve an immobiliser problem.

Check safeguard message:-
Handbook says "Fault. System error in anti-theft alarm system."
