    why does the vectras back end get so dirty so quickly it does my head in

    It's flat. See any Golf near you, it'll be bogging. Same problem.

    Try over here. The DOE have a salt fetish and put it on about 2" deep every night there's a hint of frost. Roads turn into a black emulsion that gives next to zero grip.

    Not in the slightest. All they do is keep 3" of the bottom of the bumper clean.
