Default Lost interest in me Vectra since being crushed

Well on Wednesday, a lorry on the outside lane decided I wasnt in the inside lane and started to pull over. Crunch, Squeeze. The pictures dont do the damage justice but is quite bad. No one hurt so thats the main point but I lost interest in it for now.

I was the same after our smash. Didn't want the car back. But after it was repaired properly (the first time the paint finish was crap) and I drove it away from the body shop all was fine. You then get to remember why you bought it in the first place.

Concentrate all efforts on getting a 100% repair. Non of this approved repairer crap (unless you know one that is any good) and don't accept it back unless it's perfect.

Might also be a good time to get any parts sprayed that you were thinking of adding to the car. I missed that trick had to wait for someone else in a black sapphire Veccy to have a mishap. Good job I know a man who can.

That's just a battle scar. And chicks dig scars.

My first Astra had worse than that and I drove it for a year. One thing for sure, people let you out of junctions and let you change lane when both sides of your car are torn out.

Once its been damaged or stolen as it was in my case with my Vectra (ok it did eventually get repaired) it NEVER feels the same again, take it from me, that was part of my reasons for getting rid of mine. Everytime i got in i thought about them low life sc*mbags who broke into my house, helped themselves to my keys and took the car and f**ked it up. Ok yours is different i know and i sincerely hope you get it sorted...and soon. At least you're here to tell the tale eh? Good luck mate.

firstly, bad luck with the prang, but the main thing is you're ok. one problem i have with having a vehicle repaired is that it isn't the 'same' as it was before. maybe not worse or inferior than it was before, just different. it's just part of the hassle factor of having accidents. it's early days, your previously lovely car is now a bent and bruised old nail in comparison to how it was earlier that day. but don't despair, give it a week or 2 - maybe a week or 2 in the bodyshop's nissan micra courtesy car will have you pining for your old friend?
