    Default No Radio Code Supplied

Just realised that I didn't get a code for my radio when I bought the car 3 months ago....

If I contact VX directly can they let me know what it is? Don't want to disconnect the battery before I've got it!

if the dealer dos not have a record of the code tell them u want a car pass and they should get it for u.

the car pass has a lot of details on them radio code, security code, key number etc it was something u might need and the dealer should supply u with it.

if they wont supply u with it they shouldnt charge more than 20+vat.

u woud be better to supply the radio serial number so that when the apply for it vx will give the code for that radio and not for the radio the car left the factory with as they may be differnt.

u might have to supply yer v5 and driving licence(thats wot we ask for anyway)

Forgot if the car is full canbus then you will not need a code. Half canbus will (three round buttons on the steering controls)

Canbus is basically the wiring system for your car. It is however, an advanced 'network' which links all the ECUs and Wiring Looms together and controlls all the electrical systems of the car.

In this case, if your car has full canbus... the code for the stereo, the cars immobiliser and the ignition key ... will all work together to establish that the stereo is linked to (ie 'married to') the car. Once this has been established, the stereo (via Canbus) will interrogate the ECU component which holds the code for the radio, and reprogram itself if required.

I think thats how it works....

Canbus is the system that controls the car electrics. Basicaly if you have a 3 x round buttons on your steering HU control pads you have half canbus
