hi all, i have a vectra sri on a 03 plate, i have been told that i can put in a traction control switch ander the alarm button and it will work??
is this true?? if so why wasnt it fitted with the switch when it was made??

I think it's just a case of but a switch and see, some work and some don't mate, pot luck!
If you look behind that blank switch there should be wires if there is its a 50/50 chance it will work,just buy a switch and try
Surely the TC switch turns the TC off, same as the Astra? Fitting a switch won't suddenly give your car traction control.
the switch is for turning TC OFF (under 40mph) and is 50/50 as to whether it will work (mine doesn't - but lights up at night!)
When you turn the ignition on, do you see an orange skidding car light for a few seconds? If so you have TC and a switch MIGHT let you turn it off.
Depends on the engine & the switch will only turn it off (if it works)
good chance it has tc. Best way to tell is to boot it round a roundabout and loose traction, if a little skidding car comes on the dash, then you have tc.
Whether the switch works though, it appears to be hit and miss
Its pot luck if it'll work or not......
If its a 1.8 then it won't have it,as it wasn't fitted to them.......
