    Default general polishing

My son bought me this Halfords 240v random orbital polisher

    Attachment 13532
is it any good just for a general polisher. Idon't really want to go down the road of extreme detailing of the paintwork ( to much like hard work ) I just don't want to cause any damage to the paintwork as a novice. I could always practice on my daughters old micra!!!!!!!
any help /info would be much appreciated
    Thanks in advance

I don,t think you will damage the paint with one of those they don,t have that much "guts". It will be more use taking the polish off as to putting it on as the motor will slow down with the resistance from the polish. It will make life a bit easier as long as you say you are not going in for "full detailing".

Thanks for that, as I said I just want to give it a polish with a bit of shine don't need to go as far as a mirror finish ( although fair do's to all those that do as their cars look amazing) It's just to try and save my old arms from getting tired

My parents bought me one of those or very similar years ago. I used it on my wheels as they were polished and had a flat face. Never used it on the body, probably still in their garage.
