Default new to the club, hello!

Hi people. new to the club and have read some very interesting threads and got loads of questions. I own a 2.2dti sri but want to change to a 1.9cdti, just wondering what the air box mod is and has anyone got over 240bhp without causing any damage or without having to upgrade major engine components, is it possible to achieve this without replacing injectors, turbo etc.

    thanks and hello

    steve

Welcome along to the site Steve.
Air box mod is removeing the plastic intake plate in the bottom of the box under the filter. A real easy mod.
The 1.9 see's about 190 bhp with a tuning box or BSR Remap. Only a couple of people off here have had over 220 bhp but their motor's are now dead meat

I'd stick to a BSR remap and be happy with the 190ish bhp.

thanks for the info Shan, i do just want a sensible hp figure but i thought they would be capable of 200>220hp without causing trouble, is it the internal engine components that arn't up to the job or is it a certain component like the turbo thats the culprit
