    Default De-Cat 1.9CDTI

    I have read that this can be done but am not sure exactley which cat I need to remove and will it make much difference can some one give me some advice please.

    I had the precat removed from my Astra - was a pig of a job, and didn't really notice any real gains.

    Don't think it would work on your car as it will have a DPF fitted.

    Nah, didn't really notice any increase in performance, just more noise. I wouldn't waste your money. Well worth getting custom exits though as they look great.

    For debate, why remove a cat, its on there for a very good reason!!

    it restricts flow. just taking it out on some cars can relaese a lot of power. but heard theres not much point on a turbo diesel as you need some pressure?? simply chip it for more power.

    Indeed it does,but the MOT only checks for soot!?

    Although some remapped diesel cars have failed the soot test!

    All the cat on a diesel does is reduce NOx. It's got **** all to do with CO2. Besides, CO2 emissions make trees grow, so removing your catalysts saves the trees.

    "Remove your cat, save a tree!".
