Default Rear View Mirror Removal? Help

As stated, I can't get my rear view mirror off, I've had some good advice that it slides off the mount, mine doesn't want to slide! Is there a clip or something as I can't really see and I don't want to force anything off.

    Pics would be really good.

    Thanks in advance,

    Robbie

there is a retainer , small clip that u can manipulate a little - once u remove the plastic cover , be careful not to crack the screen.
And if its a rain sensor be careful not to damage the ribbon .

OK I have suitably kicked myself and the balls. After nearly putting my mirror though the dash (a bit too much force used) I now have a FULL working understanding of how my mirror comes off!
