Default Tomtom - Best Mount available - Photos please

Just bought a Tomtom (520 - 4.3" screen), but struggling to find a decent windscreen mount. The standard one is just too short. I place to right of steering wheel, but it does obscure the kerb when turning right. The good bit is that it is within easy reach when holding the steering wheel....but bad for for routing the charging cable.

Ideally I am after a vent mount (But one that doesn't sit 1" off the vent and touches the indicator stalk)........or a windscreen mount to enable the Tomtom to sit just above/above right of central display.

I have bought 2 vent mounts, neither are good.

Any help would be appreciated to save me buying/reselling mounts until I get the right one.

Photo's are a must please !!.......and ideally where you bought it/model number.

    Thanks

My wife uses the standard windscreen mount for hers and she finds it ok.
I think you can get different mounts of the TomTom website and Ebay

Have a look over the t'internet for Proclips and Brodit mounts.

Proclip make a range of mounts that are vehicle specific and are mainly able to be fitted without the need for drilling whopping holes in the dash or elsewhere.

The Brodit mount then attaches with a couple of screws so you could have 1 Proclip with several different brodit mounts on which you change depending on what you're using.

Take a look here for some of the ideas of mounts

    http://www.gpsforless.co.uk/search.p...cts&st2=Tomtom

    and here for the proclips

    http://www.gpsforless.co.uk/product_details.php?id=934

If you click on this link ^^^^ and then the buy button you can enter your vehicle model, year etc and it tells you what proclips are available and where they fit on your dash.

I've got the one that sits just to the right of the clock with my old TT300 on and it don't rattle/move, its within easy reach and doesn't foul the indicator switch arm. It cost me about £30 ish all in when i bought it nearly 3 years ago and when i swopped to my vec all i did was bought the new proclip, unscrewed the mount off the old foci one and then reattched it to the new one, took me about 90 secs all in.

Dont they stil make a permanent base kit? i know they used to, you wire it in direct so no need for unsightly charging cables..
As for a windscreen mount, we've always used Brodit or proclip

As I put onto site a while ago:- see your local posty and aquire a few of the red elastic bands that they scatter around the place. Loop two around the left hand top heater outlet bar so that the two loops are left into which you place your TomTom. Out of the line of vision and no backlight to distract you. Not only very very cheap but works as well!!! Tuck unwanter lead below sterring wheel on the left and rout the rest down to the ciggy point.
