    Default Annoyed a bit

Car is supposed to go into dealer tomorrow for them to check out the juddering clutch. When i was in the other day the lad said to get a loan car i must be fully comp insured " i am " he said bring along your insurance certificate. Also call today and check the loan car is sorted.
I called today and they now tell me i need to get a cover note with the loan car's reg number etc on it to be covered or they will not give me the car
I told them that thats not what they said on monday and it's not that easy.
How long are you going to have my car When you tell me you need to get all the bit's in to fix the issue i'll have to get another cover not for a loan car. And it's going to cost me for the insurance company to produce a cover note.
I was fuming and told them to stick it.
Quality VX customer service yet again.

Its not just Vx who do this.
I had a F**d Focuds TDCi Ghia on a 53 plate a couple of years back. A week out of warranty it went horribly horribly wrong.
It was off the road for 5 weekd whilst the local stealer stripped it to bits to find the problem.
They gave me a 'loan' car which turned out to be a T reg Focus 1.4 CL with 120k on the clock.
I had to fork out for my own insurance on the damn thing as well as running my policy on my own car which was apparently being mended.
After 5 weeks i told them to take a hike, dumped the loan car on the dealers frontage and demanded mine back.
2 hours later, I limped it across the road to Vx and Px'ed it for my excellent Siggy.
Go down the lines of writing to the MD, as you dont need to run a Courtesy Car on your own insurance, and it shouldnt be off the road for a long period of time.

You can do it over the phone in the dealer, the dealer can speak to them there, its what I always had to do. My car was in the dealers so much for warranty work Esure refused to do it any more as I had courtesy cars for over 2 months in total and they only really alow you to do it for 6 weeks. Dealer ended up insuring me themselves.

Just a thought glen, i'm sure norwich union used to offer drive away insurance for a week for free, phone them up get a quote for the car you're loaning and they'll cover you for a week they'll even send the cover note direct to the dealer. they do this so taxing cars doesnt become a problem. just a thought like
