    Default Has any1 fitted an ECOTEK valve?????

    As in the title... i have got an ecotek valve that i have not yet fitted i was wondering if any1 has fitted 1 and how easy it was i will be fitting it to a 1.8vvt..

    Yep and dont do it! They dont work mate, and the noise will drive you mad.

    They work by sending a pulse of air into the Air Fuel mix in the manifold, this is supposed to give a better burn. Fair point on a single point injection system, but our cars are multi point and the fuel is added after the manifold. The Valve is supposed to be attached to a vac take off like the brake servo and pulse the air into the manifold, no real point if there is no fuel in there at that point. HTH.

    EDIT: I had one on my 1.816v pug and it gave no better results what so ever.

    wouldnt it encourage a car to run lean and melt pistons on a turbo'd engine.

    I had one once it sounded like my car was farting on overrun

    I asked that at the mot station and the fuel air mix was fine.
