yep, the diagnostic gear all changes as the insignia will be running a new 'style' of system....rumoured to be 'tech3'...

so, say goodbye to the cheap code readers working on Insignia...looks like i'll be looking at stumping up £4-5K for another new toy then..

shouldn't think so, plus the dealernet support that they will occasionally need ( any updates) will also be obseleted...if anything i think un supported ones will become harder to keep up to date..

Generic OBD II code readers will still work, as there is no replacement planned in the near future at least, and all cars currently produced for EU have to comply with this general diagnostic standard.

OK, the manufacturers diagnostic equipment will always have more features, but OBD II is here to stay for at least the next few years.

Surely they wouldn't make it obsolete at the dealers irrespective of the new tech3 as they're going to need them to diagnose pre-insignia vauxhalls etc if you see what I mean, it's just asking for trouble!! especially for the technicians!!
    Cheers Pete
