Dear god ! How difficult can it be? its not rocket science its a sat nav!

Just brought a new copy of France for my siggy from.....cough cough....ebay...hasten to add a totally legit copy, in envelope, with seal, part number etc.Needless to say tho, no box, hence no instructions.
One assumes rightly or wrongly, that you just stick it in and it automatically starts dowloading to the system......if thats the case....it doesnt.
Theres no onscreen hint or whirring of drive to lead you to believe its doing anything (like it does when you put the uk back in).
In fact when you go to eject it, after loosing the will to live, it doesnt like giving it to you back either, you have to be damn quick and snatch it from its jaws whilst it trys in earnest to swallow it again. I cant see that being the "recommended removal procedure either". It doesnt do it with my uk disk. Ideas anyone? pretty please?

Are you sure it's genuine, you've purchased it good faith as genuine so contact seller, get them to clarify. If it is genuine ask them to change it, if not send it back and once you've had a refund report them.

What instructions would you want
You just stick it in, wait some time because the systems needs to load the new data (no downloading!) and find your current position... BUT because you're not in France it cannot show your current position, unless you"re on a motorway
Set the map scale to 500 miles or so and you will see that it is working. Or plan a trip to Paris and look at the destination map.

genuine product, corporate almost holograpic logo on rear, genuine seller with immaculate history, just no box.(but I havent completed feedback just in case)
I didnt know if any simple, one line instructions would have been written on box, such as "insert while holding button x or y down".
May be disk as no noise from the drive, but will give it somemore time , wander off do some work, and set the map as suggested, then try and insert a destination of paris. Feel free to add anymore ideas while im gone.

There are no instructions like that
Only instructions about swapping disks can be found in the CD70-manual

the only stuff you can find in the box are things like warranty, user and copyrights, a registration card, how to handle a cd with care , ... all very usefull

Thanks sig63 - didnt get any additional navi manual with it, will track it down from previous owner, only got audio manual which covers some navis but not this one. uk disc gets me to the town but not down to the fine detail of correct address so u must be correct, have to insert disk when at nearest french town will try it next month.Not a colour navi either so no map option.
Nice country by the way ! (i can get to my wholesaler in belgium without a paper map, navi or belgium disk which is something!!)
Ps did run it thru my laptop, can see the big encrypted file and copyright stuff etc, so looks def legit
