Engine Fault Code

Hope someone can help on this one. got myself a code reader due to EML light coming on then off then on and so on. Scan is coming up with fault P0170-Fuel trim malfunction(bank 1). Anyone who can shine a light to what this means.

you need to replace the lambda sensor..it can't regulate the engines mixture.

Can you check the lambda (oxygen) sensor operation with your kit?

cant test seperate equipment only reads the fault code stored in the ECU and allows a simple erase/reset to be carried out. Dont mind this as kit only cost £25 and cheaper than stealers to look at also can use on any make of car so handy for hobbles £10 diagnose/reset charge
