    Default Lowering

    Quick question:

If I'm looking to replace standard springs for Eibach's, can I just replace all the shocks for B4's? Also, do I need to factor any other parts in or is it just shocks and springs? Heard people talking about drop links and other things I'm not too mechanically minded I'm afraid)

I already know it's best to pay for a laser 4 wheel allignment after it's done.

If you lower your car with Eibach's then you won't need to change your shock's,its only if you lower your car 40mm+ that they recommend changing shocks and castor adjusters,HTH........

    Of course!

Still need a decent day to get it washed and polished so I've at least got pics of it as standard!

I would change the dampers as I think yours are currently standard length. The dampers on the SRi and a couple of other models are 15mm shorter than standard so they sit better with the eibachs. What about a full kit from eibach? I have the full kit and it performs well. Maybe a better price as well and you also know its matched.

Was looking into this further and heard that some guys put Sri springs on instead of Eibachs. I know this would only lower by about 15mm however, I'm concerned about speedbumps, kerbs and insurance.

    A few questions:

    1. Would it be worth my while upgrading my springs to the Sri ones instead of Eibachs?
    2. Where can I get new Sri springs?
    3. If I go for Sri springs do I need to declare it to Mr Insurance Man? (I presume I would as they are not standard to my model of car)

    1) the SRi ones are just as prone to breaking as other VX springs. If you get second hand ones from ebay then the risk increases due to the additional age. Eibachs come with 5 year warranty
    2) VX and they will = or more than Eibachs which are about £150
    3) Yes
