God I know what you mean. The kids keep shouting " Turn it up Dad, we can't hear it!!". The sound is s**t from the rear speakers!! I was thinking about just upgrading to a decent two way speaker instead of going down the component route.

Are yours busted or faulty as mine are really good. I find that Vauxhall do fit a quality system compared to other manufactures

When I first bought the car I noticed that there APPEARED to be component speakers in the rear. After a week or so I realised that there were no tweeters in the rear and just one crappy full range speaker in the door. How tight are VX?? Sri spec and no components in the back!!! Fronts sound OK but sound in the back is muffled, dull and like a bad act on X factor, which incidentally the missus is watching on sky+ now!! Ear plugs please!!!!

My kids are always telling me to turn it up, maybe theres a fader / balance for the back / front, havent looked too closely at settings. The radio reception is absolutely rubbish, I put that down to the unit itself (cd70) not cping with the welsh valleys too well. My last car had a sony unit and had fantastic quality reception.

The radio reception is OK on mine but the head unit looks and sound rubbish. Thinking about changing mine for Sony bluetooth jobbie and definitely going to change rear speakers. I bought a little micra a few years ago and the bloke I bought it off has put some Kenwood speakers in the parcel shelf (not much bigger than the Vecs) and they sound ten times better. I've tried the fader but it just makes the overall sound more rubbish. My car's looks and performance is totally let down by the sound system!!!

Peter Griffin: Ah, c'mon, Lois, isn't 'bribe' just another word for 'love'?

I have the CD70 and the sound is superb and reception of the radio with the original aerial is superb aswel. You can adjust the sound on this system with fader, balance, bass and treble but also you can choose preset options like Disco, Live, Theatre etc. I would have a good read of the book and a good fiddle with the system before spending any money
