    Default Design Nav any good?

How is the Sat Nav on the Design Nav model? Is it any good?

Does it have speed camera's/blackspots etc? Can you upgrade it, and keep it up-to-date?

This would be the CD70 system? I have this in my SRi Nav and it seems to work fine, not had the car that long. I have an 2007/08 disc in mine and I think there is a new 2008/09 disc out now. It only has traffic alerts, not speed cameras.

To keep the maps up to date you will have to buy the mapping CD every year from Navtech for something like £105, or from ebay from £30 upwards - beware of copies though.

So there's no speed camera/blackspot updates, only traffic one's?

It gets info from the radio and can re-route around accidents etc. If you are after speed camera best to get a portable sat nav.

Yes another option and you can wire it into a switched live like I did for a friend leaving the ciggy lighter free.

Well, I have a Road Angel ATM, and was hoping to maybe get a sat nav in the car similar to that, but if not, I'll just find someway to hard wire it into the car, and then use that.

CD70 will not do speed cameras. A third party company was said to be looking at adding them some time ago but it seems to have died a death.

The Sat Nav ain't all that either. Five digit postcodes only although the Traffic re routing is good.

I've just handed back an 08 Design hire car which had the CDC 40 Dab radio. If I was going for a Design I'd go for that version. No Sat Nav but the MY2008 plays Mp3s. This was the main reason I went for the NAV. version of my SRi.
