    Default Goodyear Excellence

    What's people's opinions on these?

I've run them before on my Corsa (195-50R15), got them when they came out first. Seemed OK but kinda mushy steering wise compared to the Bridgestone Potenza RE720 they replaced.

Some of the Octavias at work have them fitted to replace the Sport01 and ER30s, and they seem to handle very well, and a pretty damned quiet which I like. They're 205-55R16.

So, for a comfortable, noise-free motorway tyre, I think the Excellence is the one, and in 225-45R17 are coming in at £80 a corner.

    Anyone else using them?

A used condom stretched round the rim would be better than the NCT5.

I've got Excellence's in 225's on mine, had them for 8 months or so - far better handling-wise than the NCT5's it had before, seem quieter and look to be wearing well over the past 9-10k I've done on them.

Cost was good compared to the others as well.

    I've got 215/50 R17's Excellence on mine.
They are far better than NCT5's that they appear to have replaced.
Very quiet and they grip quite well too

Good job. Thanks folks, thinking the Excellence may be the way forward, I'm a long time Bridgestone user, and was on Vredesteins on the last car, but I want to stick to something quiet that does good milage. Bridgestones wear quick, and the Vreds are kinda noisy.

Does the Excellence have rim protectors on both the 215-50 and the 225-45 sizes?

Well, I got a better deal on a pair of 225-45-17 91W Bridgestone Turanza ER300. Only driven about 500m since fitting, so a little too early to comment.

Seems my front NCT5 had been run soft at some point, there was a fair bit of rubber junk floating about inside the tyres. Glad to get rid of those. The former rear NCT5 were rebalanced and put on the front.
