    Default Upgrading to CD60

I've currently got a standard CD30 installed. As long as its Tech2'd, and is same year etc, should I have any problems changing to the CD60 multichanger?

Problems I'm expecting are:- Does it use a different screen? (I've got dot matrix) Is it DAB? (I'd need an aerial upgrade) Is the shuttle part of the unit or is it external, and need to be fitted elsewhere in the car?

Yes you will need the matching screen also tech2'd out of the car. The DAB has a seperate box which then goes to the roof aerial. I think that has to be tech2'd out as well. You do not need the DAB unit if you dont want DAB but again u need to Tech2 that option out of the CD60 if it asks for the DAB unit.

The shuttle is all part of the unit and is a staight forward swap.

I was under the impression that the CD60 was the standard shuttle unit, and the CD60 Opera was the one that had DAB, and therefore required the higher def screen?

Or am I wrong? I'm going to a VX dealer tomorrow to investigate.g

Think the best think is to check the dealers and see what screen is fitted. U will need to match the screen. I also believe there is a Nav version of the CD60

What car are you talking about ?

I thought the CD60 is the Delphi satnav system for the Corsa

CDC40 Opera can have DAB and requires a GID, the graphical display, not the one with dots...

I thought that too but just assumed is was in the newer facelift Vectra.

I suppose he should be looking for aCDC 40 Opera same as mine which can have DAB or not depending on enabling/disabling in tech2

    Default

My car is a July 07 reg Diesel Vectra SRI XP.

I currently have the standard CD player and dot matrix screen. CD30.

The dealer that I bought it from told me it had a CD30 MP3 fitted, and after finding out it hasn't and having words, they're going to replace it when they get another vectra in that's got one fitted (they'll swap it out for mine), however, this has been taking months, due to the slump in sales.

I've been checking to see whether standard kits from other model Vauxhall's will fit my vectra, to open up the availability a bit more. I'm also considering accepting a CD player with multichanger or shuttle, providing it'll go into my car. I know the CD30 MP3 will fit, but I'm not sure about other systems.

I might even try my luck getting a Nav one out of them, if only it will fit.
Any audio experts out there? Hopefully meeting a VX sparky later, so want as much info as I can before then.

I think the only one that will fit with out too much trouble is the CDC 40 Opera and will have to come out of a newish car to be able to play MP3's.
I think you can forget about the CD70 satnav upgrade because:

    1. they will need to fit a new aerial and base (cost over £100 unless they take it off the donor car).
    2. They will then need to lay a new lead from the base to the CD70 for the satnav taken from the donor car. (labour cost)
3.They will have to change the GUID as well to the coloured version
4.This will seriously devalue the car it is coming out of.

The cost to them for Labour alone should make buying a new CD30 MP3 the bettter option for the Dealer.

I think I would go for a cash discount and use that money to buy either a CD30 MP3 or CDC 40 Opera second hand as they seem to be dragging there feet on this one. Or force the issue to get them to buy a new CD30 MP3 and fit ASAP, ie 7 days
