    Default Brake rewind tool URGENT!!

Hi people hope you can help me, think i'm being a bit stupid!!

I am doing the rear brakes on my vectra, have bought the rewind tool off of ebay
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...B:EOIBSA:UK:11

But i'm not sure how to use it, keep trying the bits in different places but it keeps falling out or doesnt seem to be pushing in when it is turning.

Any help would be appreciated as need to get them done before tomorrow afternoon!!

It should just fit on the caliper and act as a wind in piston itself, you can't really get it wrong m8.......

Might need some pic's to explain....

Obviously you have removed the pads. Then I would say you need to locate the appropriate "C" spacer into the C shaped slot on the caliper, Locating the large lip on the collar into the "c" spacer. the two pins in the end of the re-wind/threaded shaft locate in the piston, by holding all the parts together with one hand wind the tool so all the slack is removed from the thread. Then gently wind the piston back into the caliper housing. That is how I would say you use it by looking at the ebay picture.
If you still are not sure how to do it. I would suggest asking a friend or mechanic who has used a tool like this before.

Hi thanks for the replies. The first caliper i did the piston was to far out to get the spacer in so had to wind it in with a bit of force first. 2nd was easy!! Don't feel so stupid now!!

Hi Tony Did My rear brakes today, I clamped off the flex brake hose then disconected it so I could wind the piston in without resistance, then wound in the cylinder with a set of nosepin pliers I gave it a soft tap with a hammer from time to time, But it does take a long time to wind it in. the cylinder winds in clockwise, and anti clockwise to wind it out. hope this helps I did not have the correct tool for the job but as long as you can wind it who cares, hope this helps
