    Default Fallout 3

Anyone played this yet ? i started on it last night on the pc . Absolutely fantstic , bit like oblivion but in the future with a strong hint of mad max, so with this and far cry 2 to keep me busy that'll be me not playing with the kids for the next few weeks / months then

been tempted to get this too, but i read about 'turn based combat' and it put me off, made the mistake of getting far cry 2, looks stunning but the gameplay is so linear its a joke, got midnight club la instead to keep me busy till cod5 and is a good game so far

Its one of those games where your given a set sequence of button presses during certain fights, it'll say press X or B etc, so you press the button as instructed during the fight sequence, but if your off with your timing by as much as one or two seconds you have to start again (and the button to press flashes up on the screen so damn fast..!!) and it will pick a random set of buttons to press so its not even as if you can remember what to press during each sequence.. I really hate scripted gameplay like this.

As you say its based on the COD4 engine, but its nowhere near as good as the single player cod4 game, i think the only button press sequence in cod4 is when the dogs attack you during one mission..

Its not a keeper like some games, as soon as i've done with it (probally this week sometime) it'll be ebayed..!!

I was exactly the same, got far cry 2 , thought it was ok but not much to keep me hooked then got fallout 3 and far cry aint had a sniff since . To the guy who thinks its turn based combat it aint you can either go mano a mano shooter style and/or use something called V.A.T.S which you use attack points to give a few hits to certain parts of the body and if you kill em that way you generally blow off heads/arms and legs in a lovely cinematic sequence which i will never get bored of lol .

Upto level 7 now and i have a feeling i aint even scratched the surface yet !
