    Default Hybrid

    Took a toyota Prius home last night from work. we had a lend of one to see if we liked it for the next company cars.

    Hmmmm.... it was the top of the range t-spirit with full leather sat nav climate etc etc... anyways the dont have clocks they have a digital speedo right under the windscreen which seems miles away. Also you have a screen on the massive display which shows energy consumtion .. little pic of an engine the wheels and the battery with arrows in between to show you how the car is running either bat or engine.. now all the toys and boy its full of them are good but it still looks crap!! plus it has no power so apart from all the toys the hybrid at the min until its developed more is a big no no from me!

    They do look crap, from the outside at least.

    Also, if you're a big mileage user, esp on motorways, then you will not get a good fuel economy out them, as it will be out of it's design drive cycle. Various tests have proved that it is not THAT fuel efficient out of design use - ie on motorways.

    I saw one doing over 80 down teh A1 t'other morning. It looked totally wrong.

    My cousin has one of the Honda Civic hybrids, it goes very well. 1.4 VTEC and a huge honking motor. Hard to keep up with it off the lights even when I was following with the DERV Astra.
