Default Oil Warning - How far can I go?

This came on on the way to work. I've got 70 miles to get home. I've got some oil at home. Do I need to buy more or will I get home ok without causing any damage?

Check the level before driving anywhere.

I wouldn't have gone anywhere, it seems you are burning some oil?

The Renaults don't seem to have dip sticks anymore just a check when you start the engine.

If it only took just over a litre the light obviously comes on quite early then.
