Time for trick or treat. Now I don't mind the little kids but the teenagers that come round later in large groups.

I live far enough out in the sticks that I don't get bothered fortunately. My kids are taken around the relatives, who all live locally. They get the fun and nobody else gets bothered.
I used to dread this time of year when we lived up in Lancashire near Lytham. We used to get loads and loads of kiddies of all ages including some older ones which were not so nice.
At first we used to give them money, but we found they would then tell their pals just around the corner and within minutes someone else would be knocking the door.
The wife then stopped giving money and started buying a load of cheap sweets each year, which was fine with the younger kids, but the older ones would chant n moan as they went away, one even kicked the door as it was closed.
Dont get this now... thankfully we live to far out for them.
I have a shared driveway and last year I gave the teenagers some sweets and they went next door. Next door are tight as so I knew they wern't going to get any from them. I was going out and when I went out I saw them just about to blast my car with eggs and all sorts. I shouted at them and told them it was my car as next door don't have a car. They swore and said all right old man and went on their way. It's the same every year they come from the next town to create havoc.
I turn the lights out and close the curtains
Yes yes, miserable git indeed
Its funny you should mentioned the eggs, we got egged a few times, little ba****ds. Have you ever tried to clean eggs from glass especially if its been left a while.. a most difficult task.
I just dont know why kids are like this nowadays.... well I do, but its seems the government and do-gooders do not.
When we moved home a couple of years ago, our main criteria, was location, location, location. You can always improve or improvise the property but you cannot change its location, we learned that lesson big time at our last home. We had a large council estate just a few hundred yards on the other side of the road from us, and dont get me wrong I'm no snob, I was bought up on a council estate as many of my generation were, but people were totally different then, unlike todays society.
Quite simply we have no discipline today, and we are paying a big price for the lack of it. Rant over..lol
TBh my dream home would be one where my nearest neighbour is 10 miles away.
I was born in a small flat on a council estate too. It's a nice area I live in, but the kids come from the rough area 3+ miles away.
Its not so bad if they dress up but round my area hoodies and shellsuits is the closest you get ta fancy dress.
