    Default Px, jeepers !

Been hunting for another car a little bit smaller for some time.
Test drove a few read reviews etc as you do.
Soa Local VX garage has a rather nice Astra 2.0 Turbo petrol up for sale at £8.5k on a 56 Reg. Lots of additional extras so obviously i am interested.
take it on a drive, like the power and the drive of the car.
So get back and the PX price i get given is £1500 I couldnt believe it, i was offered £3k maybe 2 months ago.
To say i was and am shocked is an understatement.
I dont do Finance so it doesnt look like ill be getting a new car anytime soon now.
Slightly pointless thread but i had to share it

If you took a 2.0t Astra into a dealer at the moment, they'd offer a lot less than £8.5 grand.

I'm looking for a Focus or Astra for Mrs MLC at the moment. The dealers come out with all sort of nonsense to devalue your p/x but amazingly, the cars on the forecourt haven't been reduced at all.

I appreciate they are a business, but in my view they're taking full advantage of the current climate (and losing a definite sale in the process)

Yeah got to agree with that MLC. Some of the forecourt prices have dropped, but not even close to the way the px prices have been affected.
Now I need a turbo to keep up!

Not pointless at all. But the Astra you mention is overpriced. I was told in the dealers about an 06 Astra 2-litre Sports Hatch (170bhp) at £6500, and was told mine would be worth £3500-4000 in px. But certainly in general forecourt prices of Vectras have not come down to compensate for poor px values.

TBH just wanted a px figure for mine. Think I'll keep mine, for now at least.

Just not shifting any cars, so px price are at rock bottom, I may have changed my 56 plate 150 in as new condition with 33k on clock for something else, but they only offered £6k in px.

Its running well, so keeping it longer, at least until warranty expires... stuff em.
