    Default CD70 Display Screen

Does anyone have any ideas on what i could use to dim the display screen on my CD70, i've tried the dash lights dimmer, but it just doesnt seem to dim it enough.

Does anyone else have this problem with the CD70, i just find it quite bright at night!

Im thinking window tiniting film at the moment!

not wanting to sound stupid but have you got it set to night mode when you turn the lights on? The screen is dark grey instead of white.

Hi Robbie, Yep its current settings are "Auto" so its red/white during the day and grey/black at night.

Just still to bright, even when you have the speedo lighting down to near nothing.

On an old car i had you could "Black" the screen with a button so that it only came on when needs be, say for example when a navi instruction came up.

from the main display, press settings. Scroll to the day/night option (4th one down?). three choices-
AUTO - day mode when lights off, night mode when side or head lights are on
ALWAYS DAY - light background, dark text mode
ALWAYS NIGHT - Dark background, light text

EDIT: Forget this then, you've beaten me to it!

Fair enough, just wondered if you had it set to white all of the time. I can see how it can be distracting. You could try tinting film but without sticking it on to what it's like, I think it would be too dark though, worth a try. Can't really see what else you can do. HAMMER?

OK on reflection the hammer might be a little O.T.T! I am still thinking about a solution though.

Does it Dim lots or just ever so slightly?

My one barely changes, unless i have a resistor or something gone that controls it?? I have limited electronics knowledge though!

I have just been out to my car and it dims ALOT! You can hardly see it, not to annoy you just to let you know that it seems you have a fault.

sorry but I wouldn't know how to fix it, how old is your car? Get VX to look at it, if it's still under warranty they SHOULD fix it.
