Are tyre fitters liable for damage to wheels?

Just a quick one chaps. Last time I had tyres fitted I noticed the next day there was damage to one of my wheels but didn't go back to garage. Getting 4 new boots next week and wondered if anyone has had similar experience but then complained and got anywhere. Are they liable for damage caused whilst fitting or can they just wreck your rims??

yes they are liable and should cover a refurb/ replace the wheel if damaged...that is what ins is for matey...

i am sure it come's out of the depot's bonus pot...

fitters wages rich well it does at formula 1 centres

Souns good. Only reason I ask is that the place that damaged the wheel last year is the place that has given me the best deal and the bloke that works there is a top bloke. I am though a bit wary of going back but I think I will let him know that there was damage caused last time and I'll be watching the fitter like a hawk!! Never knew that about insurance.....every day is a school day!!!

hopefully you have piccies b4 the wheels went in...cos they will try and wriggle out of any damage claim

Watch that they don,t cover any damage with that soap stuff they use to get the tyre onto the rim.

my mate is a regional manager of quite a large tyre and exhaust place, i remember him saying that one of the lad's scratched a porsche rim, refurb was out of the question and it was a new rim full stop.....cost came from his bonus, but because they work as a team it would come out of the depot's bonus pot.....1 month gone and was covered, being right by each other get's you mucho respect as a manager

also a friendly word in the fitters ear that you have pictures and make sure you inspect them with the fitter..and threaten to rip his b4lls off if damages them often helps

Knowing my luck he would turn round and bray me to death with a wheel brace if I said that!!!!
