The 2.0 Twin Turbo diesel has been on the cards from day one, it is in effect a development of the 1.9 CDTTi found in the Saab 9-3.
We get this engine in June next year, and will be available with front wheel drive and 4 wheel drive.
The 1.6T I think will be a stormer, its actually 180PS and very tunable to 240bhp.
I believe it is, yes. And the Insignia 2.0 turbo petrol is a detuned version of the current Astra VXR engine. All about emissions I would think. The trend across mainstream manufacturers is towards smaller turbocharged petrol engines.
Are the diesels new lumps or developments of the current F**t units...?
Has already been said on here they are 'developments' of the existing units with a different turbo, increased power output and some changes to the internals.
Hopefully they've told Pierburg where to stick their poxy EGR and swirl flaps.
