Anyone knows what this means????

Hello Guys,
My 1.8 02 Elite has developed a fault. At first the ABS light on the clocks went on but this is not what really concerns me as I checked with all the wise books by Vauxhall and u can use the car without ABS. So this will be sorted later although if somebody has any idea how to fix it and what the problem would be any help is greatly appreciated. Now the one that concerns me more, the emission light came on about 3 weeks ago and it was coming on and off interchangeably, I got the code reader out (OBD II) and it read P1405. But it couldn't get me a description what it is, so rang vauxhall but these stealers wouldn't tell me what it is because they want 60 quid to connect their tech 2 to get the reading. The code has been cleared but the fault is still there. Anyone with any ideas waht it could be???

# P1403 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Valve 1
# P1404 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Closed Position Performance
# P1405 - Exhaust Gas Recirculation System Valve 3
# P1406 - EGR Valve Pintle Position Circuit
# P1407 - EGR Air Intrusion in Exhaust Supply to EGR Valve
# P1408 - Intake Manifold Pressure Sensor Circuit
# P1409 - EGR Vacuum System Leak
# P1410 - Fuel Tank Pressure System

I also included faults codes around that number so you get a flavour for what it could be.

I don't know what valve 3 actually is. Are you sure the DTC is correct?

Hi Ste,
yeah m8, I'm pretty sure that's what it said on it. I'll double check. I was thinking it could be the lambda sensors on their way out but this is totally different. Anyway thanks for your help, hopefully sombody would know what the Valve 3 is as I have no clue. The other symptom I noted is the car is a bid down on the mpg, it used to do around 44mpg and now it hardly does 41mpgwhich on the long run is not in my favor as I do 32miles round trip per day to work.

Somebody any other ideas?
