Signum 2.2 Auto

I have the chance to get a 2.2 Signum Elite spec but with an auto box.

I'd much prefer to have a manual and seeing as they are rare enough over here, this one is a bit of a hens tooth. Its black with cream leather interior, heated seats, all the top spec an elite has. 22,500 miles in a 06 plate.

I'm hoping to go and test drive it next week but would like to hear from those who have an opinion, good or bad on the auto box. I've always driven manual and I suppose am a bit naive when it comes to automatics and I obvoiusly feel that if I bought it, I would be stuck with it for life

Well mate. The Signum is a cracking motor and your one being a Elite has every toy you could think of.
An auto would be a dream to drive.

Just try it out and see how it feels mate. Thats the best thing to do.

But be aware the fuel economy on the 2.2 is bad enough as it is - I never got above 32 in my manual Siggy Elite - the autobox would drop that down even further (not far off 2.8 Turbo territory I suspect...)

Anyone with a 2.2 Auto know any better...?

my 2.2 auto vectra (non direct) is a good car. the auto box is very smooth and in clutchless manual mode it can shift. Fuel economy i am average 30-34mpg mixed. get between 360 - 385 miles to a tank. On long journeys i have had up to 40+mpg and 500+ miles from a tank.

Worth a look at i would say.

just wondering, didn't the facelifted Signum Elites have a colour Sat Nav? This one doesn't look to have it

By the look of your piccys I would say yes to the colour satnav as its the same as mine

Yes you've got it mate, and you're right that all the facelift Siggies have it, although there are a few 55 plate facelifted ones with the mono satnav for some reason...
