Default Hand or footbrake at lights?

Something AndyC mentioned on the handbrake sticky got me thinking. I am also one of those people who put their handbrakes on a traffic lights, and not sit there with foot on the brake - blinding the driver behind if it is dark!!

I have been tempted to , I mean stick me main beams on to return the gesture in the past (though as this is probably illegal I would never do it ) as it REALLY narks me.

Anyone else? Or am I being an oversensitive flower?

Depends on how long I expect to be there and if my foot is getting bored of holding the brake pedal.

in an auto if i put in neutral and handbrake on i then have to press the foot brake before it will engage drive again.
which must seem a bit weird to the car behind with my brake lights coming on before setting off again.
    if that makes sense.

Even worse is when the gears are ordered so that you have to go through reverse to get it into drive or 1st...

Then the reverse lights come on for a second before they move off...

Handbrake for me though, especially if I've just done any decent braking as it'll warp the discs otherwise...

Tend to use footbrake during the day and handbrake during the night, so as to no blind people. Unless your the pratt in the Astra tonight who kept tailgating me, even after I burnt him off, then you deserve a blinding! :x
