They should drop their trailer at the port, the shunters put it on the boat and take it off the other end, and local drivers should haul it to where it's going. Simple.

worst thing is that he will go home as quickly as possible and never be seen again.

Yes, absolutely terrible - family was killed today/last night (including 4 children) as a lorry hits the car.
I think foreigner truckers should only be allowed to drive in this country if they pass a test here.
One thing to remember though, it's not only foreign drivers who are guilty of these cases (a british driver was jailed for a similar incident quite recently - it was shown on that Motorway Police show on TV).

Are you sure? Apparently he's been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Don't know if they can apply full British law to the foreign driver from here on, definitely should be the case though.

    hi
mate of mine was hit by a foreign driver going up a dual carriageway the wrong way.
wrote off 3 cars and his, luckly no-one killed.
he was arrested and charged.,but when court day came no sign off the git.
this was 2 years ago and still unable to trace him.

this is a touchy subject lads as there has been families killed ... especially kids !!!!!
but as said before the foreign drivers should be left in foreign land !!

think this thread should be closed before it gets messy i.e. racially.

This is very sad indeed, the family where on their way visiting family and they were all killed, when the car caught fire...

Things need to be looked at, in reference to driving over here... Maybe to enforce a driving course; so that it can educated the driver from abroard of the rules and regluations of the roads.....
