    Default Learnt my lesson

Didnt get off to a great start this morning, car struggled to start but got there in the end. thought to myself "this weekend ill replace those glow plugs" Get to work, done what i had to then went to go home...

... Got in the car, tried to turn over and nothing, tried jump start from a collegue, nothing! So I had to call the RAC. spoke to a man on the phone and he told me 45mins!! 45 MINS!!! anyway 5 mins later the van comes round the corner. He poked around in the engine and told me the battery is dead hows that then? first of all he said did you leave a light on? nope then it may be a dead cell and advised me to have it checked and maybe replace the battery. when he goes in the car to start it after connecting his jump leads "AH!" he shouts, "Thats why" Guess what it was...

...The interior LEDs. damn things stayed active even with the car off and played with the electrics eventually draining my battery!!

When i got home i yanked them out and shoved the original bulbs back in. Morale of the story. LEDs DONT WORK AT ALL INSIDE OR OUT SO DONT BOTHER. i learnt the hard way

On a better note, cant fault the service from the RAC

Yea its sort of sorted but not the only problem. the man said there was nothing wrong with the plugs as i asked about that. He said it would be due to the lack of power in the battery that i was receiving a warning light

If it was just the LED's draining the battery then surely a jump start would have worked and got you going, till you went out the next morning and it would be a dead battery again!

I had something similar in the Seicento when I had a craptastic £50 MP3 CD player and it would appear to turn off but kept draining the battery overnight. Got my missis to bump start me and away I went for a 30 min drive. Stopped, started engine no probs. Drove home and next morning the same thing! Disconnected MP3 player and never had a problem so took it back to Argos and got my money back!

I don't know how easy it is to bump start a veccy but my missus could push the Seicento fast enough to get me going! Might need a couple people for the Veccy tho!
