Smile All The Talk Over - The Signum's Here!

At last, she's home! Brought my 55 (05) plate 3.0CDTi Signum Elite home today. Before anyone says it i know it's the law...pics! Getting on a bit by the time i got it home so didn't take any, will sort it tomorrow that's a promise gents. What a machine that 3 litre engine engine is, wow well impressed. Not a motorway fan but had no choice today when i had to go fetch it home. M1 it was for some of the way. I need to get out more, that road is heaving with Veccy C's and i even glimpsed a 56 reg Signum. Never owned a diesel in my life before so all this is brand new to me. Had the Mrs whingeing, "don't forget to put diesel in!", "now do i look stoopid or wot?" says i. "Yes!" says her. I didn't mess up, diesel it was. The car's in Sapphire Black (think that's the colour anyway). I'm sure you lads will put me right on that one. They tell me black's a bug*er to keep clean. Ah well, i'm sure i'll cope with it. Night shift tonight so not much chance to have a play (as you do), but will be up and out early tomorrow. Cheers by the way to those of you who've answered all my questions over the last few weeks, i appreciate it.

Can't wait to see the pics mate. Black is a b*stard to keep clean but it's worth it when you see the results.

Wish i had got another black one lol

glad you took some good advice...........a cracking motor on all accounts....i found the best way to keep black cars clean is by using AG wet wax after youve washed it with A/g wash and conditioner ....put it on thinnly after car is rinsed down wait till it drys then wipe off using M/c cloths...gives it a great shine and also helps to protect the car as it contains cannuba wax HTH

Well done - yep black is a bit of a bu66er to keep clean - but when you have gutted it - washed, clayed, rinsed washed and clayed again. Polish out the swirls, and then seal - then wax - do all that on a Fri/Sat and leave for approx 24 hrs (let the wax cure) and then wax again. What a result - best looking cars in the world - black. Drive down the road and 20mins later it looks like cr$p again.
But all that effort is worth it for the 20 mins.
PS - there is a really good how to on this site on wash/clay/wax.
(Take the vx badge off of the back - then it really does look soooooooooo good when waxed up.

Ya ya ya - I thought metro blue (on my old vectra) just looked 'dullllll' no mater how much I cleaned / polished / waxed the beast - just a matter of taste I reckon.........................but perfect black on a siggy is just so cool - unless it is peacock green which is a plush and real rare colour.
