    Someone recently posted a similar thread, but i can't find it...anyway, can anyone tell me what the legal percentage is for front side window tints, just about to get a quote for mine and the misseses cars...(and what do people suggest for rear and rear sides percentage)

    cheers, but there's all sorts of figures bouncing around there...

    is 50% front sides legal? if not what is?
    rears can be anything, right?

    Windscreen has to let in 100% of the light through (i.e. no tints allowed)

    Front Door Windows - have to let in at least 70% of the light through

    All rear windows - can be a dark as you like.

    Please bear in mind when fitting tints that some standard glass is already tinted so you have to apply the correct percentage of tint to stay legal on the fronts.

    Thanks God!

    Edit: D'Oh, just rang tinting guy and he said that he can no longer tint front door windows at all legally??? Pants!!

    I would still fit a clear film to the fronts for security reasons.

    I have 50% on my fronts (whoops), and 30% on all my rears.
