Default 314 Set Up Lacks Bite

    Hi everyone

I took the opportiunity to do the 314 upgrade when Saab were advertising their set up on the site. Ive always noticed that the pedal seems to travel quite a bit - lacks bite. This has been more noticeable recently when driving my VW Passatt 2.0tdi company car whose brakes nearly put you through the windscreen. Whats your thoughts on this upgrade guys? Do you think I need another bleed or could my pads be the issue - only done 2k since fitting.

There's a few posts like this. I wonder if the bore in the 314's is larger than the 285's, this would give a longer pedal.

I initially thought about changing the pads to the Police Spec if they do them for the 314 set up and changing the fluid to a different spec, but i thought i would ask here just to see if nyone else as noticed this. Has anyone done another quick bleed to see if this has helped?

After 2k miles the pads should be well bedded in .I would do a full system bleed and see if that improves the pedal.

The thing is Ive only done 12k miles on the car so should i just buy .5ltr and do a quick bleed again or replace to better spec say Motul 600?

personally i'd swap the pads AND re bleed.. the 314's on cars i've swapped them on to are great brakes..it does sound like something is amiss.. if they still don't bite to your liking, there is the 345mm conversion option..
