    Default Possible with Chips Away

Hi, question for you guys who have used Chips Away,

I was away for work at the start of the week when some stuoid woman in an oversized 4x4 decided to clip the rear quarter of my car. I was stationary at the time and she had plenty of room, but of course she decided to wallop my car. The damage is all superficicial, apart from a very gradual dent that starts about 4inch from the rear light and gets deeper to towards the rear light. Right at the light, because the rear wing is rolled, the metal is at its original position. Total dent size is say 4" x 4" x 2-3mm deep.

could chips away deal with this, needs a small scuff of the bumper seeing to as well.

I would like to get away from the insurance companies as it can be a nightmare for something that could be fixed fairly easily, i think. She did apolgies at the time so I would like to offer "out of insurance" style settlement.

    Cheers guys

If she is to blame I wouldn`t let chips away do it, I would get a proper job done, on the wing it is important to get it painted properly ...

You must be gutted ... I had mine done in nearly the same place, less damage though, the bodyshop charged my insurance £600 to fix it, resprayed the whole bumper, they said non insurance they could do it far £350 cash but wouldn`t replace the light which had a graze on it ...

IMHO, no chance. Get it to Vx to be sorted.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.............Get it done properly m8, if she wants to pay, fine, her loss, if she goes through insurance, her loss again. It might teach her to learn to drive the damn thing properly.

well the trouble is she first said it was my fault as she thought this section of road i was going into was one way, but when a car went past me in the same direction as myself she apologised. The really annoying thing is she should of given way, but because she thought i was in the wrong she was barged past (I stopped when she kept comming - but had now where to go - she had acres).

I am trying to keep it from the insurance company as if she makes up a c*ck n bull story it may go to knock for knock which i dont want. If i can get a cheap enough quote she may just pay as i couldnt see any damage to her car at all.

Check the seams behide the bumper when you have the hatch up, if they have spilt it is a insurance job, and it doesn't take much to spilt the bodywork either so beware!!

Chipsaway will do you a free quote. If they can't do it, they'll tell you.
If they do it, it's guaranteed to be an excellent job. We use them for our company cars, and I got them to do the scuff on my rear bumper, and you can't see that anything's been done.

    Phil
