    Default Blasted Wipers!!!!!!

Replaced the old retro fit flat blades with the normal Bosch Wipers the other day.
Since it has started raining, they have done nothing but squeal and squeak - what can I do to sort it out?? Its really ANNOYING me now!!

Put flat blades back on or clean your windscreen with Autoglym Glass Polish as this seems to work wonders

That's the worst thing you could put in there. Rots the blades, the salts scratch the screen and it'll dry out the rubbers round the window. Oh, and there's zero frost protection. Or do you put your dirty plates on the screen?

Washer fluid or plain water is the only stuff you should put in. I've found Halford's premixed blue washer fluid diluted 50/50 in the winter and their green fluid in the summer again diluted 50/50 works very well.

Rain-X glass cleaner followed by Rain-X rain repellent means you rarely need to use the wipers, though.

Sounds like a plan. I'll see what I have got and hopefully this rain will go off so that I can clean it up!

How can disolved salt scratch a screen? I didn't suggest putting it in neat, so how can it dry the rubber or cause rotting?

I sometimes use washing up liquid, and my wiper blades are still working absolutely fine after 97,000 miles.

Freezing protection? Where are you located at? It ain't freezing around here yet. Plain water has no freezing protection either. That's basically all I use, either plain water (mostly) or add some fairy. I must like the bubbles.

It also removes grease, wax, smears all of it. But i'm not a detailer, so don't care. It only gets wax on it from the car wash anyway.

Fortunately, not personally, but I am aware of his existence.
